ENDODONTIC BLEACHING
WHAT IS ENDODONTIC BLEACHING?
Endodontic bleaching, or internal bleaching, is a dental process performed by an endodontist who specializes in treating the internal parts of teeth. It's primarily used on teeth that have had a root canal and subsequently developed discoloration.
HOW INTERNAL BLEACHING IS PERFORMED?
The internal bleaching process begins with the endodontist making a minor opening in the upper part of the discolored tooth. Through this opening, a specialized bleaching agent is carefully inserted into the tooth. After the bleaching agent is in place, the opening is securely sealed with a temporary filling. This bleaching agent remains inside the tooth for a designated period, typically a few days to weeks, depending on the case. The treatment may be repeated as necessary to reach the optimal whitening effect.
